Your motto for 2026 – and why musicians need one

It's easy to set goals in January.
But often these are the goals that everyone has: "More reach. More appearances. More money."
What's missing? Inner alignment. The common thread. The feeling behind it.
A motto for the year.

A phrase that carries you when everything is shaking.
That reminds you when you're trying to please everyone again.
And that accompanies you through booking stress, social media breaks, and release moments, because it's your own.

Why musicians need an annual theme

Because in this business, you don't just do creative work.
You bear responsibility, hold meetings, do management, performance, branding, promotion.
And in between all that, you need something that helps you organize your thoughts without pressure.

How to find your motto for the year

Sit down for 15 minutes. Write without thinking:

  • What will I no longer want in 2026?

  • What should be given more space?

  • Who am I as a musician if I don't have to please anyone?

Then read through your words and see which sentence speaks to you.

A few examples:

  • I choose quality over quantity.

  • I remain visible, even when things get quiet.

  • I can think big, even if others remain small.

  • I trust my rhythm.

How to use your motto in everyday life

  • Read it aloud to yourself every morning.

  • Add it to your booking list.

  • Make it the caption for your next music post.

  • Share it in your story; genuine connections build reach.

Today, I'm sharing mine too:
"I choose depth, not speed."
Because I don't want to rush in 2026. I want to make an impact.
And I want you to feel truly connected to what you do.

What is your motto?
Let me know, or keep it to yourself. The main thing is that it belongs to you.

Kind regards
