Booking preparation: How to impress with your EPK

If you want to be booked in the fall and winter, now is the time to get your EPK - your Electronic Press Kit - in shape. Bookers, festival offices and event organizers often make their decisions months in advance. And you have exactly one chance to make a lasting impression.

A good EPK not only shows who you are, but also why people should book you. It's your digital stage set.

Here are five points that your EPC should contain and what you should avoid:

  1. A convincing artist profile
Write clearly about who you are, what you do and what makes your project special. Leave out unnecessary pathos. Your text should make people want to experience you, not confuse them.

  2. Professional photos
At least one portrait and one live photo in high quality. Pictures speak faster than text. Make sure that they show you as you present yourself on stage.

  3. Live video or trailer
Bookers want to experience you. A short, authentic recording or an atmospheric montage is often enough. Important: the sound has to be right.

  4. Relevant facts
Where have you played? What press is there about you? Have you had airplay or Spotify success? Show that you work and that people take you seriously.

  5. Contact and call-to-action
Make it easy to book you. Write clearly: "For booking inquiries, please send an email to ..." or include an inquiry form. No detour via three links.

Why is this topic important right now?
Because many musicians only think about their EPK when the application deadline is almost over. If you keep at it now, you're already one step ahead of most people.

If you want to make your EPK even more structured, take a look at my template or book a feedback session.

Kind regards
