Applications & booking for 2026: How to stand out positively

Now it's starting again: the big wave of applications.
Festivals, promoters, cultural centers - they're all planning their 2026. And now is your chance to get your music talked about.

But many musicians don't know how to present themselves professionally and clearly.
Some send an email without any information. Others send an overloaded PDF that is meaningless. And then you wonder: why doesn't anything come back?

Today I want to show you how to apply for a job - with attitude, heart and strategy.

What should be included in a good booking application?

1. a strong introduction
Not: "Dear festival team, I'm a musician from Munich and I'm looking for gigs."
But: "I'm Christina, a singer-songwriter with electronic influences. I write music for people in transition - and that's exactly why I'd like to be part of your 2026 program."
Sounds different, doesn't it?

2. three clear files or links

  • Brief description: Who are you, what do you do, what makes you different?

  • Music & live video: Max. 2-3 songs, a realistic live recording

  • Technique & set: How long do you play? Solo or with a band? What do you need?

3. your attitude - not your lack
Don't say: "I'm desperate for gigs because I don't get many opportunities."
Say: "I want to show my music on new stages in 2026 - and I think it fits in well with your concept."
Self-confident. Clearly. At eye level.

4. follow up - but properly
If you have not heard back after 10 days: follow up politely.
Simple and friendly:
"Hello XY, I wanted to ask whether my application has arrived and whether I can send you anything else."
This comes across as committed, not pushy.

I've accompanied many female artists who didn't dare to apply for a long time.
Because they thought: "I'm not ready yet."
But you're not too early.
Maybe you're just too quiet.
And that can change - right now.

If you like, take a look at my music coaching.
I'll be happy to help you sharpen up your performance - on stage and in the booking mailbox.

Kind regards
